As the president of the University, I hope that the information you find here will be helpful and that you'll develop an appreciation for what Rheinsberg University has to offer students.
Rheinsberg is a student-centered university. Students expand their interests and perspectives. We combine the academic distinction and personal attention of a smaller, private college and the choices and variety of a comprehensive university. We are committed to our belief that outstanding faculty scholarship and inspired teaching can go together and students learn a great deal here. But the most important knowledge they will acquire is the knowledge of how to learn, which will help them to continue their education for the rest of their lives.

Every year, the Office of Vice President presents awards of excellence to the University Research Professors for the University Research Professorship Awards to at least 85 members of our faculty who have demonstrated excellence in research and creative work that addresses scientific, social, cultural, economic and health challenges in our region and around the world.
Investing in Student Success
Rheinsberg's students are graduating faster and we are making this possible by recruiting more high-performing transfer students and by enhancing student-support programs such as advising, counseling and career services.

Office of University Communications and Marketing
Rheinsberg's Office of University Communications and Marketing has a dual mission to be strategic partners to offices and departments across campus in advancing the most effective approaches to communicating their individual excellence, and to do so within the context of a charge to elevate the distinction of the University of Rheinsberg to broader audiences around the world. It is the responsibility of the Office of University Communications to develop that information into a news release format that is consistent with the news writing style and university procedure. Our staff will assist departments and individuals desiring news coverage in advance of any activity or event; however, complete information must be received prior to the scheduled activity or event. Please note that the publication of any news release is up to the discretion of the newspaper editor, not the university. The editor decides if and when, to publish the release.
Mission of the Office of University Communications and Marketing
Our mission is to promote Rheinsberg, grow our local and national reputation, enhance enrollment and keep the university community informed. We market and promote Rheinsberg to prospective students and their families, community leaders and the public. We take the lead on strategic and crisis communications and provide support for campus units.
Marketing: Manages Rheinsberg's brand, coordinates marketing strategies across campus, oversees external and internal promotions and advertising.
Media Relations: Produces content and promotes news coverage related to Rheinsberg. Handles media requests and crisis communications.
Board of Trustees
ThThe Board of Trustees is committed to assuring that students have the opportunity to achieve their educational goals through a quality education. As a result, the trustees are sincerely interested in the views of students, faculty, staff and citizens on matters affecting community colleges and continuing education.
Responsibilities and Authority
The Board of Trustees is vested with a broad range of authority and responsibilities for governing and managing Rheinsberg. Its specific powers and duties include responsibility for making cost-effective policy decisions, authority to adopt rules, authority to acquire and to dispose of real and personal property and for controlling university-owned property, responsibility to establish degree programs, and generally, authority and responsibility to do all things needed to administer Rheinsberg. The Board has the authority to take action whether recommended by the President or not, and can direct the President to deliver all information required by the Board.
Governance and Administration
The University of Rheinsberg operates under the authority of the University Act and is governed by a Board of Trustees and a Senate.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the management, administration and control of the property, revenue, business and affairs of the university.
The Senate is responsible for the academic governance of the university. This includes matters related to libraries, faculties, departments, courses of instruction, awards, exhibitions, admissions, student appeals, and the granting of degrees including honorary degrees, diplomas and certificates.
The role of the administration, headed by the President is to lead and manage the affairs of the university in accordance with the University Act and the policies established by the university.
